Title: Square Shade
Place: Freshness Art Fair, Tel Aviv
Freshness is a street art and public work satellite fair of the Fresh Paint art fair. The square in which Freshness is exhibited was designed and built in the brutalistic style. Shading structures made out of concrete which were originally installed in the square dismantled due to lack of maintenance and the proximity to the sea and were eventually disassembled. As a result, the square became completely exposed to the sun, and its vast public space unusable. The group installed a shading structure made out of sparkle plaster and utah paintings and colorful benches with hockey socks on wheels. The structure became a shaded and comfortable gathering point with a view to the Mediterranean sea, creating a meeting point between visitors to the art fair and people passing by.
